LIMESTONE – Juanita L. Ward, 87, died unexpectedly Oct. 15, 2003, at her Limestone residence. She was born at Limestone, Nov. 3, 1915, the daughter of Jesse J. and Mable (Hamilton) Ward. A graduate of Limestone schools, she also attended and graduated from Beals Business College. In 1940, she went to Washington, D.C., to work in the office of Rep. Frank Fellows. For the next 45 years, she stayed in Washington, working for various government agencies. After her retirement, she returned to Limestone in 1985 to care for her brother. She was an active member of the Church of Advent, the Limestone Caswell Historical Society, and the Robert Frost Memorial Library. She is survived by one brother, Luther J. Ward of Caribou, along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, at the church of the Advent, Limestone, with the Rev. Robert Smith, pastor, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the Webster Cemetery, Limestone. Donations in Juanita’s memory may be made to the Church of the Advent Memorial Fund or to the Robert Frost Memorial Library, Limestone. Envelopes will be available at the church or from the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou.
