BASS HARBOR – Juanita Pearl Leighton, 84, died July 18, 2004, in Bass Harbor. She was born March 6, 1920, in Brooklin, the daughter of Ray and Violet (Perkins) Griffin Sr. She was a member of the Eastern Star for many years. Juanita is survived by her son, Linwood “Woody” Leighton and his wife, Irene, of Southwest Harbor; one sister, Beverly Lewis of Southwest Harbor; two grandsons, Michael Leighton and wife, Phyllis, of Bar Harbor, and David Leighton and wife, Patty, of Ellsworth; five great-grandchildren, Katie, Kasey, Travis, Valerie and Heather. She was predeceased by a son, Randy; two brothers, Ray Griffin Jr. and Carl Griffin. Graveside memorial services will be held 12 noon Monday, July 26, 2004, at Mount Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor.
