MEDWAY – Judith Ann (Judy) Moore, 60, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 12, 2004, after a long battle with colon cancer. She never gave up believing she would be healed either on earth or eternally. Either way, she won and is now with the Lord. Judy was born on Sept. 9, 1943, in Yarmouth, the daughter of the late George Lyons and Mildred (York) Lyons. At age two she was raised by her maternal grandparents, Rev. Ruppert and Grace York until the age of 16. She thanks God everyday for the foundation they laid for her. Judy moved to East Millinocket in 1960, for her senior year at Schenck High School, where she graduated in 1961. There she met and married Ronald C. Moore on Nov. 18, 1961. She was a devoted wife, mother, and nana. Together they had four children, three daughters and a son. Their children are Lori Ann Moffatt and her husband, William, of East Millinocket, Ronald “Chuck” Moore Jr. and his wife, Deb, of New Hampshire, Debbie Hathaway and her husband, Gary, of Connecticut, and Michelle Thomas and her husband, Paul, of Old Town. They also have six grandchildren, Dustan Thompson, Tish and Riane Moore, Kayla Hathaway, Ashley and Anthony Moffatt. Then in February, they were blessed with a great-granddaughter, Aspen Arianna Kay. Judy is survived by her husband, Ronald C. Moore; three brothers and two sisters, George (Philip) Lyons and his wife, Barbara, of East Millinocket, Lloyd Lyons of Las Vegas, Daryl Lyons and his wife, Karen, of Medway, Brenda Michaud and her husband, Maynard, of East Millinocket, and Sharon Lyons of East Millinocket; one sister-in-law, Lanna Lyons Hartley of Millinocket. She was predeceased by her parents; grandparents; and two brothers, Dale Lyons and Benny Hooper. Judy was a member of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God for 31 years, where she worked in the Sunday School department, and in 1988 was the head cleaning lady until her retirement due to illness in 2001. She belonged to the worship team and sang with her brother, George Lyons. Her favorite chapter in the Bible is Psalm 139. “In my own words: God has blessed me with not only a wonderful husband and children but also a church family. They all supported me and prayed for me daily. My husband, kids, and church family were my encouragers. I want to mention a few special people in my life, Miss Hattie, Gwen, Jean, Robert and Gina, Hope, Jeni, Nina, Pastor Adams, and the entire Moore family. I also want to thank Romeo D. who would sometimes come to visit me and share God’s word with Ron and I. You will never know whose life you will touch. Also a deep thank you to Hospice and the Katahdin Area Support Group. God bless you all!” Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, Orchard St., East Millinocket. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church, East Millinocket. Burial will follow at Grindstone Cemetery in Medway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462. For online register book, please visit www.bouchardfh.com.
