FRANKLIN AND SOUTH ADDISON – Julian Joy Ingersoll, 79, died Feb. 2, 2004, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1925, in South Addison, the son of George H. and Rebecca (Joy) Ingersoll. Julian loved the outdoors and the wilderness. He loved hunting, fishing, and enjoyed long car rides. He lived most of his life in South Addison, until he moved to Franklin in August 2003. After serving a year in the Army, Julian received an honorable discharge due to an injury to his knee. He was a lifetime member of the Addison Masons and a member of the Anah Temple Shriners. Most of his life, Julian worked lobstering, clamming and raking blueberries. Many people knew Julian best for being a dedicated sports fan and for his enthusiastic support of Down East basketball games. He loved baseball and even played semi-pro in the Passamaquoddy league in Machias until his late 40’s. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his dedicated and loyal wife, Bernice May (Hardwick) Ingersoll of Franklin; a daughter, Emily Davis of North Carolina; a stepson, James Patten and his wife, Lisa, of Franklin; a brother, George Ingersoll Jr. of South Addison; a sister, Dorothy Manchester of South Addison; four grandchildren, Timmy Smith of Texas, Anna Davis of South Addison, Jalisa and Brenda Patten of Franklin; several nieces, nephews and an uncle; special friends, Richard and Ann Merchant and beloved pet, Jake. Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at the South Addison Church, Mooseneck Road, South Addison.
