WINTERPORT and CAMDEN June Calderwood, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Sept. 24, 2004, at a Rockport hospital. She was born in Winterport, June 23, 1920. the daughter of Morton L. and Vivian (Titcomb) Carleton. June was raised in Winterport and was a graduate of Winterport High School Class of 1939. The center of June’s life was her family, and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend, who devoted her life to her family. She is survived by five daughters; Janice White and husband, Walter of Waldoboro, Roxana Hopkins and husband, Larry of Vinalhaven, Joy Mills and husband, William of Vinalhaven, Susie Mackey and husband, Ralph of Charleston, S.C., and Gloria Drinkwater and husband, David of Owls Head; sisters, Hilda McGray of Brunswick, Winnotta Reynolds and husband, Donald of Hermon and Marion Ryan of Winterport; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, one great- great grandson; a sister-in-law, Shirley Carleton of Winterport; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lamont Wadleigh in 1948; her second husband, James Calderwood in 1986; two sons, William Wadleigh in 1995 and James Calderwood in 1999; a sister, Virginia Schoppe in 2002; and by four brothers, Floyd Carleton in 1931, Burleigh Carleton in 1991, James Carleton in 2002 and Lloyd Carleton in 2004. A graveside service will be held, 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport.
