LIMESTONE – June L. Noyes died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at a Caribou health care facility. She was born June 3, 1916, in Limestone, the daughter of Robert and Edna (Griffeth) Leavitt. June graduated from Limestone High School and was a former “Miss Limestone.” She married Gerald G. Noyes and together they ran a dairy and potato farm for many years. June also served as the town clerk and treasurer of Limestone. She was active in her community and church and was an avid bridge player. She played an intimate part in the lives of her grandchildren, Kirk, Mark, Jody and Susan Ward, and to the extent that health, time and distance allowed, followed the lives and adventures of her great-grandchildren, Heather and Ryan Ward, Rachael, Chad and Morgan Ward, Jessica and Laurie Lavoie, Megan and Benjamin Caston. She was blessed with eight great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, Samuel, Elizabeth, Nathan, Joshua and Sarah Haycock, Joshua and Samantha Ossenfort and Emily Snyder. June was predeceased by her husband, Gerald June 1993. In addition to the descendants mentioned above she is survived by her daughter, Gayle and her husband, Hayes Ward, of Limestone; sisters, Eva Leighton of Limestone, Jacquelyn Beaupre of Caribou; and a brother, Samuel Leavitt of Caswell. At June’s request, there will be no calling hours. A committal service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Webster Cemetery, Limestone, with the Rev. Ellen Cleaves officiating arranged by Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, Caribou. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Limestone United Methodist Church, Limestone.
