FORT FAIRFIELD – Kathleen C. Bishop, 91, wife of the late George S. Bishop, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at a Pittsfield nursing facility, after a brief illness. She was born May 30, 1916, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Richard R. and Izah (Sharp) Clark. Kathleen was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School and while residing in Fort Fairfield, she attended United Parish Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years, and was married to George S. Bishop, June 29, 1938. Kathleen owned and operated Kayleen Kennels from 1960 to 1974. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bishop was predeceased by her husband in 1998; and one brother, Loomis Clark. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Bishop and his wife, Phyllis, of East Holden and Hollis Bishop of Yuma, Ariz.; two daughters, Kristy Bishop of Saugerties, N.Y., and Vicki B. Gum and her husband, Richard, of Troy; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A graveside service of committal will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating.
