BAR HARBOR – Kathryn Doody Mitchell, 92, died March 4, 2005, at Mt. Desert Island Hospital, Bar Harbor. She was born in Staten Island, N.Y., the daughter of James and Mary Higgins Doody. She worked in the food service department at Sea View Hospital & Home, Staten Island, N.Y. for 30 years. Upon retiring in June of 1979, she moved to Bar Harbor with her husband. She enjoyed cross stitch, rug hooking and working in the garden. She attended the Bar Harbor Congregational Church and was a member of the Afternoon Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Bar Harbor Senior Citizens group. She was the wife of Harvey Mitchell who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by four sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by her stepson, George Mitchell and his wife, Billie, of Bar Harbor; her stepdaughter, Virginia Rogers and her husband, Clyde, of Wesley Chapel, Fla. She leaves behind six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to her memorial service 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Bar Harbor Congregational Church with the Rev. Dr. Sandra Reed officiating.
