HOULTON – Milton “Mac” C. McGuffin, 79, died March 5, 2005, at his residence after a short illness. He was born Nov. 9, 1925, at Washington, D.C., the son of Milton and Caroline (Geotzinger) McGuffin. Mac was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. His love of flying translated into model aviation in his later years and helped him to become the Vice President of the American Model Association, winning many local and national awards for his volunteer efforts and his expertise at building model airplanes. Mac was a ground flight instructor and on the Board of Navigators at Houlton International Airport. His working career was spent as the owner of Colony TV Service, a television sales and repair shop in Washington, D.C. He made house calls to the ill and elderly who couldn’t make it into his shop, and repaired monitors at the White House. After his retirement, he worked at the Houlton Wal-Mart in electronics because he enjoyed the interaction with family and friends. Dancing and traveling were other pastimes Mac loved. He also enjoyed being with his eight grandchildren whom he was very proud of. He is survived by two daughters, Laura Carmichael and her fianc?, Robert Connor, of Houlton, Celie Jones and her husband, Kirby, of Pennsylvania; two sons Clyde McGuffin and his wife, Stephanie, of Houlton, Richard McGuffin Sr. and his wife, Debbie, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Andrew Carmichael, Nelson McGuffin, Jacob McGuffin, Amanda Ruth, Christopher Ruth, Richard McGuffin Jr., Mackenzie McGuffin and Charity Folk. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife of eight years, Patricia McGuffin and his second wife of 45 years Edith (Drenning) McGuffin. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dunn Funeral Home with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating.
