CHERRYFIELD and GOULDSBORO – Ramona May ‘Mona’ Moore, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 7, 2005. Mona was born Dec. 29, 1944, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Elmer and Corrinne (Grant) Tracey Sr. She is survived by her parents and her loving husband of 42 years, George. She is also survived by her three daughters and sons-in law, Melissa Tenney and her husband, Michael, Rhonda Harmon and her husband, Jason, and Holly Leighton and her husband, Joshua; six grandchildren, Kyle and Kirsten Tenney, Dillan Faulkingham, Lucas Potter-Harmon, Madisyn Harmon, and Jessie Leighton, all of whom will greatly miss her. She is additionally survived by two sisters, Anita Warren and her family, Laurene Mathews and her family; a brother, Lawrence Tracey and his family. Although there are too many to name, many friends and loved ones passed through Mona’s life and she cherished them all. Those who especially touched her heart were Doreen and Lloyd Moore, Claudette and Terry Potter and family, and Gloria Moore. Mona was predeceased by a son, Russell “Rusty” Potter; her mother-in-law, Beatrice Moore, both of whom she dearly loved. During her life, Mona worked at many jobs. Those that she enjoyed most were brushing and waitressing. Mona worked at Chase’s Restaurant for many years and made many valued friends. Although she loved working outside, she also loved the social aspect of waitressing. It made her proud when folks from away came into Chase’s and requested her or when she put a smile on the local’s faces. She had the orders of many regulars in to the cook before they even sat down. She remembered every face, what they preferred to drink, how they liked their eggs, and where they preferred to sit. On her time off she loved to watch basketball, peruse the weather channel, play bingo, and most of all, spend time with her family. Mona will be most remembered by all who know her for her kind, generous heart, her ability to love unconditionally, and her strong work ethic. Her first priority in life was to care for her husband, parents, children and grandchildren. She always took any opportunity to tell about her children and grandchildren to anyone who would listen. It could undoubtedly be said that Mona will be sadly missed by all who knew and lover her. At her request, no formal services will be held. Family and friends will gather to remember her at a later date. The family asks that gifts in Mona’s name be sent to the Beth C. Wright Cancer Treatment Center, PO Box 322, Ellsworth, ME 04605. Cremation arrangements are by Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge.
