EAST MADISON – Kenneth J. Labonte, 51, passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2005. He was born Jan. 20, 1954, in Peterborough, N.H., the son of Albert J. and Dorothy (Senechal) Labonte Sr. He graduated from Conant High School in Jaffrey, N.H., Class of 1972. He studied music at Keene State College in New Hampshire for three years. Ken had been managing the Abnaki Camping Center in East Madison since 1979. He was a member of the National Arbor Day Foundation. He helped a lot of people by listening to their situations and then lending a helping hand. He was a musician and song writer and played the guitar. He loved children, loved to drive, enjoyed fishing, and was a Boston Red Sox fan. He was predeceased by his parents and special nephew, Corey Heater. He is survived by three brothers, Albert J. Labonte Jr. and fianc?e, Donna Bouchard, of Fryeburg, Ronald Labonte of Jaffrey, N.H., Robert Labonte and wife, Lori, of East Madison; one sister, Linda Richard and husband, Bob, of Phillipston, Mass.; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, James, Trevor, Adam, Brandon, Morgan and Lauren. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, with Father Maurice N. Morin officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Jaffrey, N.H. Donations may be made in Ken’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
