WILBRAHAM, MASS., and SMYRNA MILLS – Kenneth Joseph Maker, 45, of Wilbraham, Mass., and formerly of Smyrna Mills, died April 23, 2004, in Massachusetts, as the result of a train accident. Ken was born June 15, 1958, in Machias, to Richard M. and Helena M. (Thornton) Maker. He attended Maine schools and served in the Maine National Guard before moving to Massachusetts. There he worked at various jobs including operating heavy equipment before becoming disabled. Kenneth is survived by his mother, Helena Dickinson, of Houlton; a son, Jonathan of Alamogordo, N.M.; a son, Kenneth II of Augusta; a daughter, Natasha Brewster of Meriden, Conn.; and a daughter, January Maxcy of Owls Head; a granddaughter, Hannah Maxcy; and grandson, Connor Maxcy. Also surviving are brothers, Ronald of Oakfield, and Harold of Houlton; as well as sisters, Nancy Yates of Raymond, Nadine Belyea of Hodgdon, Karla Libby of Smyrna Mills, Red Selinger of Florida, N.Y., Julianna Jimmo of Jetersville, Va., Susan Long of Dover, N.H., and Davina Lowe of Presque Isle; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. Ken was predeceased by his father, Richard; and brothers, Johnny and Richard Jr. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, with the Rev. Dave Tuttle officiating. Interment will be in the Smyrna Mills cemetery.
