ELLSWORTH – Kenneth “Ken” G. Miller, 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Feb. 24, 2006, in Ellsworth. He was born Oct. 2, 1917, in Dorchester, Mass., the son of the late Guy and Ula (Gordon) Miller. Ken grew up in Dedham, Mass. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1941. Ken served in Okinawa and aboard the U.S.S. Pringle during World War II. He continued to serve in the Navy and the Naval Reserves until 1963. Ken married Jacqueline Prestele Sept. 22, 1944. He worked as a district manager for Carborundum in West Springfield, Mass. for 33 years. Ken and Jacqueline had been residents in Sullivan Harbor for more than 32 years. Ken was an avid sports participant and a great sports fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He enjoyed landscaping and gardening. Ken also was a model train enthusiast, as well as, a model ship builder. The dogs Ken had over the years held a special place in his heart. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline Miller; son, Frederick Miller, and his wife, Lisa; and granddaughter, Kara, all of Ellsworth. Ken was predeceased by a brother, Burton F. Miller. Visiting will take place from 11:30-1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth, followed by a service 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery in Franklin.
