BANGOR – Kenneth P. Farrar, 84, passed away peacefully Dec. 27, 2007, at his home. He was born April 8, 1923, in Bangor, son of Manuel and Lena (Barnes) Farrar. Ken was a very loving, caring man, which no words could describe. He attended Hampden schools. Ken served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a photographer for the State Photo Service from 1948 to 1962, and for the Maine Air National Guard from 1962 to 1983, when he retired in 1983. Ken was an avid golfer. He will be missed and loved always. He is survived by his wife, Laurel Farrar of Bangor; a son, Kenneth E. Farrar of Portland; a sister, Joanne Sharby of Florida, and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne Farrar-Cunningham in 1997; two brothers, Francis Farrar in 1998 and Paul Farrar in 1997; and the mother of his children, Barbara Farrar. Services will be private for the family.
