MILBRIDGE and BLUE HILL – Kenneth Peer, 69, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at his home in Milbridge. He was born Jan. 17, 1936, in Antwerp, Belgium, the son of Renee and Paula (Ceurremans) Peer. Ken graduated from George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill, Class of 1955. He graduated from New York School of Design and later studied in Hawaii and Florida. Ken served in the U.S. Army and worked as a civilian in the field of military surveillance and missile tracking in the South Pacific. Throughout his life, Ken pursued his interests in furniture design, house design and construction and photography. He applied that creativity in his business, Peerbilt. He recently moved from Blue Hill to Milbridge where he owned an apartment complex and worked in home renovations. Wherever he was in his travels he remained connected to his love of the ocean and to his animals. Ken was predeceased by his father, Renee Peer. He is survived by his mother, Paula Peer of Blue Hill; his son, Eric T. Peer and his mother, Pam (Larrabee) Peer of Searsport; his sister, Anne Norton and her husband, Stephen, of Bucksport; his sister, Rita Williams and her husband, Philip, of Guysville, Ohio; his brother, Bryan Peer and his wife, Mary, of Ashland, Ky.; and their respective children. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Diana Hinckley of Blue Hill. According to Ken’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. At a later date, there will be a private interment at Seaside Cemetery in Blue Hill.
