DOVER-FOXCROFT and GREENVILLE – Lana L. McBrierty, 61, passed away peacefully April 5, 2007, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born July 26, 1945, in Greenville, the daughter of Chester R. and Evelyn (Emery) McBrierty. She graduated from Green-ville High School, Class of 1963 and from St. Margaret’s Hospital of Schooling. She derived great pride and pleasure from a 25-year career at St. Margaret’s Hospital, Hammond, Ind. After moving to Dover-Foxcroft, she worked at the Piscataquis YMCA from 1987 to 2004, and she thoroughly enjoyed her many years of volunteer work at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. Lana is survived by a son, Eric McBrierty and his wife, Stacia; and her pride and joy granddaughter, MaKenna Avery McBrierty; two brothers, Alan E. McBrierty and his wife, Linda and Bruce McBrierty and his wife, Carol; six sisters, Barbara Clark, Cleo Phillips and her husband, Bob, Sharon Powers, Linda Inman and her husband, Raymond, Cheri White and her husband, Leon, and Myra Caron and her husband, Victor; many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by best friends, Jere and Candy White and Wanda Webber. She was predeceased by her brothers, Chester Jr., Hurley and Foster McBrierty; and her sisters, Nurisha Lail, Joan Schultz and Gail Young. Friends are invited to call 9 a.m. until time of memorial service 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Dover-Foxcroft, with Fr. James Robichaud officiating. After the service all are invited to share fellowship and refreshment at the church.
