ELLSWORTH – Langdon S. Myrick, 78, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, in Bangor after a long illness. He was born in Gouldsboro, March 3, 1926, the son of Ezra Butler and Dora (Rice) Myrick. Langdon was the owner and operator of Myrick Motors Sales in Ellsworth where he sold cars and shared stories with friends old and new. He was known for having a hat on his head and a cigar in his hand. He grew up around the ocean and enjoyed boats and boating, including from Northeast Harbor where he kept a boat for many years. He collected, traded, and liked to talk guns. He and his wife, Pauline loved to travel and took many wonderful trips, but they always looked forward to coming home. He was a member of the Maine Automobile Dealers Association, the Anah Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S in Bangor and Masonic Lodge No. 192 AF & AM in Winter Harbor. He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline (Austin) Myrick in 2002; his stepson, Austin McDevitt of Ellsworth; and three brothers, Frances, Elliott, and Ladd. He is survived by his daughter, Anne Jones of Brewer and her family; daughter, Jane Brown of Ellsworth and her family; daughter-in-law, Celia McDevitt of Cumberland and Lucerne-in-Maine and her family; several nieces and nephews, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Monday, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, with Pastor Robert Maddocks officiating. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth. Gifts in memory of Langdon may be sent to the Maine Alzheimer’s Association, 163 Lancaster Street, Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101. The family extends many thanks to the special people who loved and cared for “Papa” in his final years.
