OLD TOWN – Larry L LeClair, 66, died March 19, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 26, 1940, in Orono, the son of Ferdinand “Kiddo” and Marion D. (LeClair) Ouellette. Larry could always be counted on for giving his honest opinion. He was a great storyteller and was an avid outdoorsman. Larry enjoyed gun collecting with the love of a fine Winchester, the Maine woods, and especially spending time with family and friends during many outdoor adventures. He worked for the University of Maine for more than 40 years retiring in 2005. He is survived by his wife of eight years, Fonda LeClair of Old Town; two daughters, Lori Girhiny and her husband, Bart, of Long Meadow, Mass., and Robin McElhoe and her husband, Donald, of Moutrose, Iowa; stepdaughter, Cindy Pugh; and a stepson, Nathan Porter and his wife, Lynn, all of Woodlawn, Va.; five granddaughters, Lia, Tasha, Nicole, Lauren, and Brittney; six brothers and sisters, Roseanna Damien and her husband, Phil, of Bangor, Frederick J. Ouellette and his wife, Deborah, of Bangor, Gerald J. Ouellette and his wife, Kathy, of Milford, Janie A Brackett and her husband, Joe, of Lagrange, Paul J. Ouellette of Nashua, N.H., and Randy J. Ouellette Sr. and his wife, Helen, of Milo; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Joe Goodie and his wife, Penny and their daughter, Jennifer. He is also survived by many special friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a special Uncle Wilbur LeClair. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 23, at American Legion Post No. 84, Park Street, Orono, with a reception immediately after the service.
