EAST MACHIAS – Laura D. Geel, 73, wife of the late Austin E. Geel, died Sept. 10, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Nov. 7, 1933, in Jersey City, N.J., the daughter of George and Dorothy (Ingalls) Daum. She was a member of the Jacksonville Grange No. 358. She is survived by five children, William Geel and his wife, Faye, of Trenton, Mary Hinerman and her husband, Michael, of Machiasport, Catherine Lord and her husband, Vernon, of Machias, Linda Richards and her husband, Richard, of East Machias, and Daniel A. Geel and his wife, Lisa, of Machias; seven grandchildren, Joy Geel, Meredeth, Melissa and Michael II Hinerman, Stephen Cowperthwaite and his fianc?e, Charlotte, Christopher Wood and Crystal Bryson; three great-grandchildren, Amy Sue Wood, Gracie Wood and Justice Bryson. She was also survived by many cousins, special friends and acquaintances. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Deborah Cowperthwaith; and one grandson, Matthew Hinerman. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Cooper Street, Machias, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, with Everett Farnsworth of the Whiting Community Church, officiating.
