HOULTON – Laura Mae McGary, 71, wife of the late Donald J. McGary Sr., died July 26, 2005, at a local hospital surrounded by her family. She was born July 5, 1934, in Monticello, the daughter of Alton R. and Reta M. (Cowperthwaite) Wotton. Laura was a graduate of Ricker Classical Institute and was a member of the Amity Baptist Church. She served as the Mayor of Cary for many years and was the first select person of Cary and Amity. She is survived by her mother of Littleton; seven sons, Ronald and Darlene, Timothy and Marsha, all of Cary, Wayne and Jan, Larry and Pam, Donald Jr. and Peggy, Kevin and Jill, all of Houlton, Andrew and Wendy of Cornish; sixteen grandchildren, Ronni Lynne DeLeavy, Kylie McGary, Shanna McGary, Brianne McGary, Kelby Davis, Lucas McGary, Jacob Hovey, Colby McGary, Aaron McGary, Taylor McGary, Emily McGary, DJ McGary III, Ethan McGary, Caleb McGary, Nick and Nate; two great-grandchildren, Gabe and Aspen; one brother and a very special sister-in-law, Raymond and Sandra Wotton of Littleton; special nephew, Dickie and Bonnie Barnes; several nieces and nephews, many special friends. Friends may call Friday 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 noon, at the Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, with the Pastor Reggie Corey officiating.
