LUBEC – Laura M. Tyler, 77, died June 16, 2006, in the arms of her beloved husband. She went to be with her God, embraced in love and surrounded by family and friends. Her 15- year battle with Alzheimer’s disease came to an end. She was born, in Lubec, the daughter of Caroll and Ida (Davis) Sawtelle. Laura’s passions were her family, her church, and her job. She spent countless hours taking care of others as a caregiver for a home health agency. She was a true spirit who always thought of others before herself. The many lives she touched can not be counted. Laura is survived by her husband and eternal soulmate, Lawrence “Bud” Tyler; a daughter, Penny Laskey; two sons, Clayton Tyler and his wife, Gina, and Mark Tyler and his wife, Anna; brothers and sisters, Hollis Sawtelle and wife, Diana, Foustina Andrews and husband, James, Margaret Russell and her husband, Richard, Verna Colson and husband, Herbie, Charles Sawtelle and wife, Frances, and Jack Sawtelle and wife, May; grandchildren, Barrett Laskey, Brennan Laskey, Crystal Avery, Valerie Dorsey, Mary-Kay Collins, Sarah Tyler and Jesse Tyler; great-grandchildren, Cole Avery, Travis Alden and Jonathan Paul. Her special care givers, Gracie Farley and Ellin Sunde, who will always remain in our hearts. Services will be held 4 p.m Saturday, June 24, at the Christian Temple Church in Lubec with Pastor Alan Andraes officiating. Burial will be immediately afterward the Greenlaw Cemetery, Lubec. In lieu of donations, Laura would have wanted you to pray for those who are in need. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
