BANGOR and BRADENTON, Fla. – Laureanne Dionne Simoneau, 70, died June 30, 2005, at a Florida hospice house. She was born Dec. 5, 1934, in Lewiston, the daughter of Joseph and Marie-Anne Dionne. She was a graduate of Saint Dominic’s High School, Lewiston, Class of 1951, and, Auburn Maine School of Commerce, Class of 1952. She began her secretarial career as the secretary to the dean of faculty at Bates College, Lewiston. She continued to work as a secretary in various capacities, including many years with Bangor Adult Education, until her retirement as administrative assistant to the superintendent of schools in Bangor. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, Sarasota, Fla., as well as a summer member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, where she volunteered her time as a liturgical minister, and, as a lifetime member of the Women’s Council. She also gave of her time as a PTO president to the former St. John’s Catholic School. She married Aime M. Simoneau, Aug. 23, 1958. Daughter, Annette of Mendon, Mass., was born in 1959 and is married to Mark Bliss; daughter, Denise of Bangor, was born in 1960 and is married to Lewis Stubbs; son, Paul of Thousand Oaks, Calif., was born 1962 and is married to Dale Dooley. Laureanne was a devoted “Grandmaman” to her six grandchildren, Alaina (21), Aimee (18), Antoine (17), Angelique (15), Annemarie (12), and Mae (1). Laureanne was predeceased by her parents, and her siblings, Gilberte Cloutier, Dr. Roger Dionne, Georgette Corrao, and Lucien Dionne. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, with the Rev. Roland Nadeau, celebrant. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately following the service. Interment will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
