ELLSWORTH – Laurence Arthur Farrell Jr., 58, died Nov. 27, 2003, at a Bangor hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 8, 1945, in Ellsworth, the son of Blanche I. (Chamberlain) and Laurence A. Farrell Sr. He worked for Harold MacQuinn Construction for 31 years. He enjoyed his time at MacQuinn’s and made many friends throughout the years. Larry had a sense of humor and was always willing to help others. Larry will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Andra (Lindsey) Farrell; two daughters, Lorrie Murphy and her husband, Eddie, of Tremont and Melissa Wilmot and her husband, Chad, of Surry; two grandchildren, Dustin and Katrina Murphy of Tremont; one sister, Dorothy Bucklin and husband, Ed, of Trenton; one brother, Merton Bunker and his wife, Priscilla, of Wesley; one sister-in-law, Jean Martin of Aynor, S.C.; several nieces and nephews. He had two special friends, Ray Hisler of Surry and Bobby Curtis of Blue Hill. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, S. Alton Bunker. His family wants to thank all the nurses and doctors of the 6th floor at Eastern Maine Medical Center and the staff of the Mary Down Center for Cancer Care at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. Friends are invited to visit 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 553, Portland 04112.
