MONTICELLO – Laurent J. “Larry” Guillette Sr., 80, died Sept. 27, 2006, in Houlton. He was born April 10, 1926, in New Bedford, Mass., the son of Aldie and Marie (Foutier) Guillette. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Forces, serving with the 28rd Bombardment Squadron during World War II. Larry did magic and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, member of the Origami Center, New York, the Monticello Grange and Fish and Game Club. He taught martial arts for more than 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise (Sylvia) Guillette of Monticello; three children, Louise Beaulieau and her friend, Victor Alexander, of Orient, Lynette Dobbs and her husband, Roger, of Littleton, Laurent “Larry” Jr. and his wife, Marlys Guillette, of Calais; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; one sister, Claudette Souza of New Bedford, Mass.; seven nephews and one niece. He was predeceased by his parents; and one son-in-law, Bruce Beaulieau. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Eddie Morin, celebrant. Interment will be at Jewell Cemetery.
