FORT KENT – Laurette (Ouellette) Ouellette, 88, died June 16, 2006, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility. She was born Nov. 14, 1917, in Fort Kent, the daughter of George and Exire (Deschaine) Ouellette. Laurette and BANGOR Lawrence “Skip” Lewis II, 49, died unexpectedly June 17, 2006. He was born Nov. 14, 1956, in Bangor, the son of Lawrence Lewis and Lou-Ann (Strout) Lewis. He was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1975 and Connecticut College, Class of 1979. Skip worked for most of his career in alternative education in the Freeport school system and the Community School in Camden. He enjoyed cooking and had a passion for music, particularly the Grateful Dead. He was an avid and loyal Red Sox fan and never missed a game and loved going to Fenway Park. Skip was predeceased by his mother, Lou-Ann; and his father, Lawrence. He is survived by his sister, Susan Lewis Hodgkins and her husband, Peter, of Rockport; his aunt, Susan Parker and her husband, James, of Veazie; his godmother, Joyce Bailey of Greenville; 14 cousins, including three special ones, J. Michael Parker of Northport, Jeffrey Parker of Holden and Jonathan Parker of Veazie. Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves, pastor of the North Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church, officiating. Gifts in his memory may be sent to The Community School, P.O. She was a member of L’Union St. Jean Baptiste. She was predeceased by her first husband, Pierre Labrie in 1963; her second husband, Alcide Ouellette in 1993; and one son, Jean Claude Labrie. She is survived by her children, George Labrie and his wife, Christine, of Clearwater, Fla., Gerard Labrie and his wife, Merilda, of Bristol, Conn., Leo Labrie of St. Petersburg Fla., Patrick Labrie of Pinellas Park Fla., Jeannette Voisine of Fort Kent, Lourdes Pelletier and her husband, Ron, of Berlin, Conn. and Virginia Thomas and her friend, Jose Vaga, of South Windsor, Conn.; one stepdaughter, Dale Johnson of New Sweden; two stepsons, Lawrence Ouellette of Arizona and George Ouellette of Connecticut, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday and noon Monday until time of service at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be after in the parish cemetery.
