WASHBURN – Lavina Marie Seward, 86, wife of the late George Seward, went home to be with her Lord May 10, 2007, at a Mars Hill health care facility, after a short illness. She was born June 4, 1920, in Castle Hill, the daughter of James and Mary Ellen (Kennedy) Richardson. She married George Seward Jan. 1, 1936. Lavina was a member of the Washburn Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, talking to the Lord and singing. She was a prayer warrior and spent many hours praying for the needs of others. Lavina was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. All of her grandchildren were very special to her. She was a kind and gentleperson who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, George and Linda Seward of Perham; three grandchildren, Kelly Lunney of Wade, Dean Seward of Perham and Kirby Seward and his wife, Danielle, of Chapman; six great-grandchildren, Shannon Murphy, Shawn Henthorn, Nathan Seward, Conor, Meghan and Morgan Seward; three great-great-grandchildren, Sage Murphy, Aiden and Siara Henthorn; a brother, Herbert Richardson and his wife, Jean, of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Florence Johnson of Castle Hill, Verna Pryor, Mabel Skidgel and her husband, Freland, all of Ashland and Leila Cary and her husband, Dwight, of Washburn. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two grandsons, Danny Seward and Dan Lunney; four brothers, Edward, Willard, Jerome and the Rev. Alton Richardson; three sisters, Lillian Ferland, Clara Dunn and Lucy Pryor. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at the Washburn Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. Relatives and friends may call noon until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Extention Cemetery, Washburn.
