LAWRENCE A. CALL EASTPORT – Lawrence A. Call, 94, died Dec. 11, 2003, at an Eastport nursing home. He was born Dec. 31, 1908, in Eastport, the son of Frank and Edith Call. Lawrence worked in Michigan in a munitions plant, in the sardine factories in Eastport, and the Mearl Corp. in Eastport. He served his country in the U.S. Army in China, Burma, and India. He received a Bronze Star and other medals. He was a member of the North Baptist Church and the Washington Street Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Edith M. Call; and brothers, Roland, Merton, Darrell, Arnold, Richard, Grayson, and Ronald; he is survived by his only sister, Geraldine H. (Call) Follis; sister-in-law, Glenna Call, both of Eastport; nephews, Ronald Putnam, William S. Follis, Norman Call, David Call, Timmy Call; nieces, Annalie M. Greenlaw, Sally A. Young, Linda Rayner, Tammy Call of Woodland, Tammy Call of Eastport; and cousin, Eileen Leighton of Pembroke and respective families. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home. Family hours will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 16, 2003, at the Flagg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sheldon Keezer officiating, interment will be in Bayside Cemetery in the spring.
