LIMESTONE – Lawrence G. Bell, 82, died March 3, 2007, in Caribou, after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 2, 1925, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, the son of Sandy and Mamie (Mockler) Bell. Mr. Bell was a self-employed welder in the Limestone area for many years, and also served as a town selectman for Caswell for a number of years. He was a longtime member of St. Louis Catholic Church and was a former 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2851. He is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Tom Cote and Gail and Paul Caldwell, all of Limestone, Betty and Jack Parisi of Caribou, Patsy and Paul Poitras of Limestone, Sandra and Greg Cyr of Brewer, and Paula and Rich Gorence of Caribou; his special companion, Ann Carroll of Limestone; two brothers, Adrian Bell of Wells, and Vinal Bell of Caribou; one sister, Constance Murphy of Oxford; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bell was predeceased by his wife, Leitha (Carroll) Bell, in 1977; two brothers, Nelson and Elmer; and a grandson, Christopher Parisi. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, from St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone, with Fr. David Raymond officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hamlin. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Bell may do so through the Cary Medical Center, Jefferson Cary Foundation Specialty Clinic.
