BANGOR and ORONO – Mabel M. Buckley, 79, wife of the late Henry W. Buckley, died March 3, 2007, at an Orono health care center. She was born April 21, 1927, in Bangor, the daughter of Decater M. and Mary E. (Lynch) Grindle. “Nana,” as she was known, was a dedicated homemaker who loved to garden, and feed the birds and squirrels. She also loved playing Beano and going to yard sales. Surviving are one daughter, Donna E. Hammond and her husband, Thomas, of Hermon; three grandchildren, Lea Ann Buxton and her husband, Tom, of Milford, Debra Graban and her husband, Thomas, of Bangor, and Tammy Hammond of Hermon; four great-grand-children, Jennifer and Rebecca Graban, and Nicholas and Kristen Hammond; several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas Hammond II; and she will be remembered by a special friend, Catherine Maceacharn of Orono. Family and friends may visit 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday with the Pastor Paul Warf, of the Word of Life Christian Center, officiating. Burial in the spring will be at Locust Grove Cemetery, Hampden.
