WEST ORANGE, N.J. – Lawrence Gates, beloved husband of the late Donna (Phair) Gates, and devoted father of Beth, passed away Aug. 1, 2005, at his residence in West Orange, N.J. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and resided in Brooklyn and Perth Amboy before moving to West Orange, N.J. 38 years ago. Mr. Gates was a technical director with Randolph Products in Moonachie before retiring. He was a graduate of New York University with a bachelors degree in chemistry. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias in Brooklyn and the New York Society for Coatings Technology Inc. He is survived by a daughter, Beth; a sister, Muriel Krietzman; and a brother, Frederick. He predeceased his wife, Donna, who passed away Oct. 27, 2005. A Funeral service was held Aug. 1, at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Texas Road, Marlboro, N.J.
