FORT KENT – Lawrence P. Madore, 95, died peacefully at a local healthcare facility. He was born June 22, 1910, in Fort Kent, the son of Peter and Agnus (Beland) Madore. Lawrence was a head cutter for Great Northern Paper Company until his retirement in 1973. He was a member of the Pulp and Sulphite Union. He is survived by two sisters, Emily Brown and Lorette Soucy, both of Manchester, Conn.; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Doris “Dot” Marquis of Fort Kent. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Emily Berube Madore; four brothers, Herbie, Wilfred, George and Romeo Madore; and one sister, Cecile Soucy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. Paul Labree officiating. Committal service will follow in the parish cemetery.
