BINGHAM – Eleanor J. Morrill went gracefully to the Lord, Wednesday Oct. 5, 2005, surrounded by her family and loved ones at Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan. She was born June 14, 1925, in Pittsfield, the daughter of Lawrence and Catherine (Fitzsimmons) Pooler. She grew up in Moscow. During her young years she was employed at the Faye-Scott Machinist Shop in Dexter, where she met and married her husband and love, Henry Wellington Morrill in 1944. They remained married until 1978 and were close until her passing. Eleanor had been employed as a C.N.A. at Somerset Manor Nursing Home in Bingham and Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Skowhegan. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Rebekahs and the Church of the Nazarene in Bingham, and was affiliated with the 1st Congregational Church of Bingham during the last few years of her life. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. She was predeceased by a brother, Henry Pooler; a sister, Alice Dyer; her in-laws, William and Leovonia Andrews; sister-in-law, Bonita Bailey; brothers-in-law, Arthur Bailey, Laurel Clark; and a very special friend, Jack Prince. She is survived by her brother, Charles Pooler and his wife, Norma, of Bingham; sister, Mary Clark of Moscow; brother, Lawrence Pooler Jr. and his wife, Celia, of Glen Cove; brother-in-law, Al Dyer of Moscow; sister-in-law, Charlene Casey of Greenville; her former husband, Henry Morrill of Bingham; her four children, Pamela Langdeau and her husband, Edward, of Norridgewock, William Morrill and his special friend, Mira Harvey, of Bingham, Robert Morrill and his wife, Gerry, of Moscow, Bonnie Atwood and her husband, Kenneth, of Bingham; son-in-law, Jim Sweet of Watertown, N.Y.; her nine grandchildren, Scott Richards and his wife, Sherry, of Bingham, Catherine Morrill and her fianc?, Jarrod Hunsinger, of Waterville, James Sweet of Bingham, Kelly Sweet and life partner, Janet Siddons, of Old Town, Katie Shibles and her husband, Mark, of Concord, Shane Morrill and his wife, Kaegan, of Oppenheim, N.Y., Wade Morrill of Solon, Elita Morrill of Bingham, Ryan Atwood and his special friend, Leah Mitchell, of Brunswick; her five great-grandchildren, Scott Richards Jr. of Bingham, Jamie and Shauna Clark of Waterville, Durgin and Kendra Sweet of Concord along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Giberson Funeral Home, 18 River St., Bingham. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the First Congregational Church, Meadow Street, in Bingham. Interment will be in the Robinson Memorial Cemetery in Moscow. Eleanors family would like to extend their love and sincere gratitude to Sue Wyman, whose care and love for Eleanor will never be forgotten. Also our most sincere thanks to the Redington-Fairview Special Care Unit with special regard to Dr. Cox, Dr. Saydjari and R.N. Steve, whose professionalism dedication and hard work made Eleanor’s last moments peaceful. Eleanor loved hummingbirds. In lieu of flowers or donations, her family asks you to purchase a hummingbird feeder and hang it in loving memory of her.
