JONESPORT – Horace H. “Rudy” Peabody Sr., 79, a well- known lobster-man / fisherman died peacefully Oct. 5, 2005, at the Sunrise Care Facility in Jonesport. He was born Feb. 28, 1926, in Beals, a son of John and Lucy (Beal) Peabody and grew up on the “Lizzie J. Clark” which his father owned and operated up and down the coast of Maine. Mr. Peabody made his living and home in the communities he called home, Beals and Jonesport. Rudy enjoyed his two daily trips to the IGA store and visiting with his “girls.” His home and back yard became a place for playing with his dog, “Juju” who could be seen riding along side Rudy, sitting high upon his tool box with his head out the window. He took great pride in collecting, splitting and stacking his winter’s supply of firewood. His neighbors brought scraps of wood to add to his pile and a trip to the dump was not complete without taking a few “free” pieces of wood.
