SARASOTA, Fla. – Lawrence P. Tracey Sr., 80, died Feb. 22, 2005. He was born Aug. 16, 1924, in Bangor, the son of Hugh and Florence (Iott) Tracey. He graduated from John Bapst High School as salutatorian of his class. He served three years in the U.S. Army attending Georgetown University until going overseas. He attended two years at Holy Cross College, Worcester, Mass., and two years at Boston University Law School. Larry lived in Massachusetts and Sarasota most of his life. He worked in the electrical field before retiring. He was of the Catholic faith. Larry is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Shirley (Smith) Tracey; three dear sons, Lawrence P. Tracey Jr., Christopher T. Tracey and Mark L. Tracey; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Jacqueline and Elizabeth; and one great-grandson. He leaves many friends and dear caregivers at Manor Care of Sarasota. A memorial Mass will be held 12 noon Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Church of the Incarnation.
