CARIBOU – Lucy Hewitt, 87, wife of the late Albert W. Hewitt, died Feb. 23, 2005, at New Britain, Conn. She was born Sept. 15, 1917, at Eagle Lake, the daughter of John and Julia (St. Germaine) Nadeau. Lucy was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Lister-Knowlton Post 9389 VFW. Lucy loved to sew, knit and loved playing cards and reading. She is survived by her son, Allan C. Hewitt and his wife, Mary Ann, of Exeter, N.H.; two daughters, Barbara Webster and her husband, Robert, of Plainville, Conn. and Julie Shirley of Naples, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Gloria Doody; two sons, Galen and Nathan Hewitt; and by her brothers and sisters. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Spring interment will take place in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
