BAR HARBOR – Leah C. Malaney, 74, died July 17, 2005, at her summer home in Trenton. She was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Lewellyn C. and Lora Hadley (Carter) Fortier. Leah loved her cats and she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing bridge. She volunteered at the Maine State Museum in Augusta. Leah was a member of the Bar Harbor Congregational Church, the Bar Harbor Historical Society, the Jesup Library, a charter member of Friends of the State Museum and she was also a member of Ladies Friendly Bridge Club. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert E. Malaney, and her cousins, Barbara Anne Cole of Bar Harbor and Joanne Beal of Southwest Harbor. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2005, at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor with Rev. Dr. Sandra M. Reed officiating.
