HEPHZIBAH, Ga. – Lee Edward Gillespie, 51, beloved husband of Joanne Barrow Gillespie entered into rest Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Center Downtown Division. Mr. Gillespie was a native of Charleston, S.C. and had made Hephzibah his home for the past 25 years. He had retired from the U.S. Army in 1990. Additional survivors include five sons, Nicolas Howe of Hephzibah, Eric and Eddie Gillespie of Houlton, Ed Howe of Limerick, Jim Howe of Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Lisa Gillespie of Houlton, Judy Wheeler of Hephzibah, Cathrine Morris of Pennsylvania; father, Lee Edward Gillespie of Council Bluff, Iowa; two brothers, Lee Eugene and Bobby Gillespie of Council Bluff, Iowa; two sisters, Sharon Powell of Summerville, S.C., Debbie Curtis of South Carolina, and eight grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Elliott Sons Lumpkin Road Chapel.
