LEFOREST F. THOMPSON DEER ISLE – Leforest F. Thompson, 85, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at a Deer Isle health care facility. He was born in Deer Isle Sept. 7, 1918, the son of Leslie C. and Lyda M. (Sprague) Thompson. Leforest was a lobsterman from the time he was a little boy when he would go fishing with his father until he stopped fishing in 1993. He is survived by a son, Reginald Thompson of Deer Isle; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Thompson and his wife, Danielle, Mark Thompson, Michael Thompson and his wife, Donna, Melissa Eaton and her husband, Aaron, Jamie Thompson and Ryan Thompson; a great-granddaughter, Marena Rose Thompson; a special friend, Veryl Douglass and her family, Gary Douglass and his wife, Joanne and their children, James, Angela and Jeffrey. Leforest was predeceased by his wife, Edith; and a son, Allen Thompson. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Sunshine Road, Sunshine, with Elder Winfield Billings officiating.
