LYNN, Mass. – Leo E. Beauchamp Jr. died April 5, 2007, while surround-ed by his family at North Shore Medical Center, Salem, Mass., after a courageous battle with post-surgical complications. He was born March 6, 1928, son of Leo E. and Evelyn (Wilson) Beauchamp. Entering the service at 17, he served in the U.S. Army Signal Service Corps in the Philippines and was honorably discharged, having achieved the rank of corporal. Additionally, he was an assistant Scoutmaster to his dad, Scoutmaster of Troop 21, Boy Scouts of America, Lynn, Mass. A registered master technician in radio, television and sound service repair, he was employed by Radio and Electrical Service Co., repairing radios, TV’s and sound systems for churches and stadiums, and subsequently, for 40 years, as service manager at Covert’s TV, Lynn, Mass. Leo loved life, gardening, boating, birds, camping, traveling, the ocean and National Geographic programs. Leo also loved watching and assisting the growth and development of his children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was a very generous and giving person, whom was happiest when members of his family were around him. In addition to his wife of 54 years, Marie Lorraine, Leo leaves his children, Liane, Leo III and Robert and their respective spouses, Richard, Jackie and Kathy. He is survived by Selectman Edward W. Beauchamp of Clifton, Edith A. Beauchamp of Holden and Victor P. Beauchamp, Quartermaster, VFW Post No. 6535, Lynn, Mass.; three of five Belliveau children, who lived with the Beauchamp Sr. family after their own parents died, Phillip, Sister Emerise and Marie Laconca; a cousin, Mildred Wilson; his beloved grandchildren, Paula, Michael and Jennifer, Jeffrey and Edward, and Derek; three great-grandchildren, Stephen, Heather and Jaiden; nieces and nephews, Timothy Slager, Nancy Sarcia, Noelle McCathern, Karen Miller, Kristen Belvin, Michael Beauchamp and Michelle DeVita; his many living great-nieces and great-nephews include, Matthew and Nicholas Sarcia, Tori Beauchamp, Lisa DeVito, Morgan and Matthew Miller, Kalie Belvin of Bangor, Leah Beauchamp of Old Town and Eric, Liza, Cambren and Drew McCathern. Leo was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Slager; two Belliveau children, Albert and George; and one nephew, David Beauchamp.
