BREWER – Linda M. Ward, 55, beloved wife of Daniel E. Ward, died peacefully April 6, 2007, with her family by her side. She was born March 30, 1952, at Gardiner General, the daughter of Raymond and Virginia Foster. Linda had a passion for her work at Brewer Rehabilitation Head Trauma Unit, until her retirement in 1995. After retirement, her passions became her children, grandchildren and shopping. She loved to shop at Mardens, Family Dollar and Goodwill. Linda is survived by her husband, Daniel E. Ward of Brewer; her parents, Raymond and Virginia Foster of Augusta; sons, Dana C. Johnson of Richmond, Jeremy J. York and wife, Beverly and their children, Zachary J. and Ashley N. York of Richmond; her sister, Marie and husband, Norman Lemieux, of Gardiner and their children, Tim and wife, Audrey Lemieux with their children of Arundle, Mark and his wife Bobbie Jo of North Carolina, Tina Lemieux, who is in the Army, stationed in Alaska, Jonathan and wife, Lisa Lemieux of North Berwick and Sarah and Roger Buzby and their children of North Carolina; brother, Robert Foster and significant other, Maria and his children of Norway; uncle, Leroy and Paulette Mason and their children of Concord, N.H.; aunt, Ruthie and Paul Barrett and son of Gardiner; uncle, Warner Taylor; and a special cousin, Debbie and her husband, David Sharp, of North Carolina; special sister and Linda’s best friend, Roberta Mulldune “Bertie” of Old Town and her daughter, Wendee and husband, Robert Pulsifer and their children, Tianna and Connor of Levant; and special niece, Sarah N. York of Old Town; sister, Karen Raye and daughter, Vicki York of Abiline, Texas; brother, Lance York and children, Lance II and Katherine of Bradford; close friends, Janice Woods and her significant other, Gary, of Eddington, Bill and Denise Gross of Corinth; and her special cat, Rosco. Linda was predeceased by her grandparents, George and Louise Foster; grandparents, George and Martha Mason; aunt, Barbara Carpenter; aunt, Elenor Taylor; uncle, Richard Mason; uncle, Philip Mason; and a special mother, Hazel E. York of Brewer, whom Linda will be playing scrabble with in heaven. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 9, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Service at Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating. The family invites family and friends to share conversations and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer, after the service. Interment will be in the spring.
