NEW LIMERICK – Leona Ledger, 76, died Dec. 22, 2007, in Houlton. She was born March 5, 1931, in Littleton, the daughter of Newell and Fern (Ellis) Drake. Leona enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, quilting, cooking, was the best homemade bread maker and loved shopping for new clothes. Leona was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother. She liked to help her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always had the best ear for listening and giving advice. Leona was the loving mother of four children, Pat-ricia and her husband, George Fitzpatrick Jr., of Hammond, Peter and his wife, Shelley Ledger, of Linneus, Lynn Graham and her husband Bradley, of Houlton and Arthur “Arty” Ledger of New Limerick; 10 grandchildren, Troy and Travis Fitzpatrick, Alishia and Jeramie Ledger, Amanda, Hunter and Ryder Graham and Levi, Gabriel and Aspen Ledger; five great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Emma, Cameron, Hanna and Sierra; two brothers, Donald and his wife, Joan Drake, of California, and Paul and Joan Drake of Hampden; three sisters, Virginia Raymond of Meridan, Conn., Lois Gentle and Marion Henderson of Houlton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband of 52 years, Arthur Led-ger, who died October 2007; and one brother, Raymond. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating.
