CLINTON – Leonard J. Marin, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 16, 2006, surrounded by his family at home after a brief illness. Leonard was born July 25, 1929, the son of Tommy and Phoebe (Ouellette) Marin. He married Cecile Pelletier, Nov. 3, 1951, and together had 11 children. In his younger years he was a potato farmer but spent most of his life as a woodsman. Leonard was an outdoors person and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He mostly loved spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents; two children, Patricia and Joseph; brothers, Albert, Paul, Joseph, Bertrand, Arthur and Leon; and sisters, Adrienne, Jeanette, Annette, Theresa and Leona. Leonard is survived by his wife, Cecile Marin; his children, Maynard Marin, Gerard Marin and his wife, Patricia, all of Clinton, Lynn Sweet and her husband, Wendell, of Fairfield, Linda Bickford and her husband, Gregory, of Greenbush, Tami Ciquera and her husband, Mike, of Bristol, Conn., Cindy Doiron and her husband, John, of Berwick, Lenny Marin and his wife, Desiree, of Benton, Bob Marin and his wife, Annette, of Vassalboro and Tony Marin and his wife, Pat, of Benton; brother, Leo of Bristol, Conn.; sisters, Leone Deprey of Wallagrass, Albertine Deprey of Fort Kent, Ann Marie Belanger and Alphena Curtiss of Bristol and Alfreda Cook of Milo; his grandchildren, Valerie Dean, Chad and Melissa Marin, Brian Marin and Lisa Chapman, Miles and Erick Sweet, Allison Bickford, Kari Middleton, Travis and Joseph Doiron, Nicholas and James Marin, Bradley and Jessica Marin and Carrie Betts; great- grandchildren, Felicia Dean, Marcus, Faith, Maxwell and Joshua Marin and Addi Betts; many nieces and nephews. A special thanks from the family to Bertha and Dotti for their loving care and support of dad. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Fairfield. Burial will be held immediately after at Town House Hill Cemetery, Clinton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Comfort Fund, 212 Main St., Waterville, ME 04901.
