HERMON – Leone Amanda Turner, 75, wife of the late Sterling H. Turner, died Oct. 19, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 9, 1931, in Bradford, the daughter of Ernest S. and Gladys M. (Hatch) Braley. She grew up in Bangor and graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1949. She was an active member of her community and the Bangor Baptist Church. Leone enjoyed knitting for the hospital chaplancy program and volunteering at the food cupboard at the Hermon Baptist Church. She was also a former member of the Hermon Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are her four daughters, Connie Laughlin and her husband, Bill, of Levant, Bonnie St. Louis and her husband, David, of Newport, Terry Sylvester and her husband, Wyatt, of Exeter and Ronda Dalton and her husband, Bob, of Exeter; two sisters, Ernestine Cole and her husband, David, of Bangor and Dorothy Bernard and her husband, Kenneth, of Winslow; seven grandchildren, Amy Laughlin and her special friend, Mike Dow, Tonya McDonald and her husband, Mike, Craig St. Louis and his wife, Brandi, Danny St. Louis and his special friend, Patty Dunlap, Jason Jewell and his wife, Bridget, Jeremy Jewell and his special friend, Nicole Masconi and Kristina Craig and her special friend, Donnie Gross; six great-grandchildren, several special nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Sterling, she was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Gladys (Hatch) Braley; three of her sisters, Muriel Yackobitz, Marion Tibbetts and Beulah Brown; and two nephews, Robert Yackobitz and Kevin Bernard. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Mick, senior pastor of the Bangor Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversations and refreshments after the services Saturday at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
