North Penobscot – Leone L. Howard, 69, passed away peacefully, March 4, 2005, surrounded by her family at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 13, 1935, in Castine, the daughter of Fred and Beatrice (Demmons) Lowell. She graduated from Bucksport High School, Class of 1952, and was a hairdresser for more than 50 years. Lee was a Librarian for Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, for 20 years. She was a very active person always on the go, having her beloved family around her was very important. Lee enjoyed eating with her family and friends at Duffy’s in East Orland, and being waited on by her friend Sarah. She is survived by her three children, Ellen Howard of North Penobscot, Scott Howard and his wife, Auline, of Bucksport, and Tammy Brady of North Penobscot and her fianc?, Jerry Farnham, of Orland; one brother, John Lowell and his wife, Charlene, of Buxton; seven granddaughters, Dawn Wilbur and her husband, Vernon and their children, Laura, Jaycob and Kimie; Bambi Howard and her son, Hunter; Amie Howard and her fianc?, Jamie Bowden; Michelle Brady, Ashley Howard, Rebecca Brady, and Abigail Brady; one niece, Linda (Lowell) Allen and her children, Shannon and Mark of Gorham; one nephew, John Lowell and his wife, Tonya and son, Thomas of Limerick. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves and Pastor White, officiating. Spring interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery. Following the services a gathering for conversation and refreshment will be held at Duffy’s Restaurant in East Orland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine, 87 Elm St., Suite 203, Camden, ME 04843, or the Bangor Humane Society 693B Mt. Hope Ave. Bangor, ME 04401.
