FORT MYERS, Fla. – Leroy E. “Lee” Richards, 76, passed away May 17, 2006, at his home. He was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Bar Harbor and moved to Florida in 1963. Lee served in the Army from 1956-1966. He retired as chief engineer from the merchant marines. He is survived by his children, Dana, Barbara, Donna, Diane, Doug and his wife, Robin, and Denise; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sister, Edythe Churchill of Farmingdale; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Lee will be missed dearly in our hearts forever. The family would like to express our deepest thanks to Kathy Davis for all of her care and friendship over the past couple years. A memorial service to celebrate Lee’s life will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, in the chapel of the National Cremation Society, 3453 Hancock Bridge Parkway, North Fort Myers, Fla. where the family will receive friends after 10 a.m. Military honors will follow the service.
