ORONO – LeRoy Wilson Bandy Sr., 94, died Jan. 26, 2007, at his residence. He was born March 4, 1913, in Deepwater, W.Va., the son of Thomas R. and Mary (Carson) Bandy. LeRoy was the youngest of eleven children and was orphaned at the age of three. He was raised by the Scott family. LeRoy was an amateur boxer when he was young. He was employed by E.I. DuPont Co., Belle, W.Va., as a millwright for 37 years. He is survived by a son, LeRoy W. Bandy Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Orono; a granddaughter, Beth Bandy Page and her husband, Rick, of Charlemont, Mass.; a great-grandson, Wyatt Bandy-Page, and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Bandy in 1992, and by all of his siblings. Funeral service will be private for the family in the spring.
