SCARBOROUGH – Leslie O. Andrews, 96, of Piper Shores, Scarborough, and formerly of Edgewood Road, South Portland, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at a Scarborough health care facility. Mr. Andrews was born in Hermon, a son of Olin L. and Grace Overlock Andrews. He was a graduate of Hamden Academy, Maine School of Commerce, now Husson College and Beals Business College. He was a retired general manager and vice president of Snow Food Products, Division of Borden, Inc. and a member and former president, trustee, deacon, elder and member of the Eskimo Men’s Club of the First Congregational Church, South Portland. Les was a Mason of St. Andrews Lodge No. 83 AF & AM of Bangor, Scottish Rite Bodies of Bangor and Maine Consistory 32nd Degree, Portland; a member of Kora Temple Shrine of Lewiston, of which he was a potentate’s aid for 12 years; a member and past president and a past director of the Portland Shrine Club and a member of the Lake Region Shrine Club. He was also a past director of Put Stevens Court No. 107, Royal Order of Jesters and the Portland Council No. 103 United Commercial Travelers; a past councilor of Bangor Council; and a member of 60 Plus Club. He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Barbara E. Andrews, in 1994. Surviving is his son, Richard C. Andrews and his wife, Judith, of Brunswick; a stepson, Robert Grant and his wife, Kathy, of San Diego; seven grandchildren, Mark C. Andrews and his wife, April, of New Gloucester, Erin C. Sylvester of Brunswick, Kim S. Andrews of Portland, Kristin Andrews of Portland, Robert Grant Jr. and his wife, Karen, of South Portland, Kathy Underwood and her husband, John, of Hanover, N.H., and Kelly Smith and her husband, David, of Falmouth; and several great-grandchildren. The family expresses their appreciation for the loving care at Piper Shores Holbrook House and Mercy Hospital. Visiting hours will be 4-6 p.m. Monday at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland, where Masonic services will be held 5 p.m. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A reception celebrating his life will be held immediately after the service at Hobbs Hospitality Center. Interment will be private.
