MASARDIS – Lester E. Libby, 89, died Jan. 18, 2005, at the Maine Veterans Home, Caribou. He was born Aug. 16, 1915, in Masardis, the son of Alton and Ida (Condon) Libby. Lester was an Army veteran of World War II and a life member of the VFW LeBlanc-Junkins Post 9699 of Ashland. He is survived by one brother, Eldon “Pete” Libby of Ashland; one sister, Gladys R. Cain of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Wilda Dow of Turner. Relatives and friends may call at the Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland from 1 p.m. until time of service on Sunday. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Spring interment will be in the Masardis Municipal Cemetery.
