LINCOLN – Louis F. Sibley, 78, lost his long and courageous battle with lung disease Jan. 19, 2005, at a Lincoln hospital, surrounded by his best friend and beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara and the rest of his family who were the love of his life. He was born May 19, 1926, in Springfield, Mass., the son of Lewis N. and Christina (Johnstone) Sibley. Lou spent his early years on a dairy farm and went on to become a farm equipment builder and mechanic. He continued his passion for inventing and developing, creating various pieces of equipment including the Pioneer Cover All and became a licensed master electrician at the age of 56. Lou was always ready to help any and all who were in need without question or obligation. His unconditional love, sense of humor and laughter will be missed by all. He moved his family to Carroll in the 1970’s where they lived until 2003 when he moved to Lincoln. In addition to his beloved wife, Barbara (Hutchins) Sibley; he is survived by 10 children, Marcia Sibley, Louis Sibley Jr., Susan Lubelczyk, Lynda Sibley, Darlene Sibley, Margaret Flynn, Christina Jimmo, Robert Sibley, Randy Sibley, and Jennifer Dodge; as well as his sons-in-law, daughters-in-law; 29 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He will also by missed by his furry friends, Harley and Little Bit. He leaves a special good-by to his girls at PVH and First Citizens Bank. He was predeceased by his only brother, Robert; and a son-in-law, Gregory Jimmo. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Services will also be held in Ware, Mass, with interment in Hardwick Center Cemetery, Hardwick, Mass.
