LINCOLN – Maxine Sheedy Landry, 88, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at a Howland healthcare facility, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 30, 1916, in Bucksport, the daughter of John Dugan Sheedy and Margaret Louise (Cowin) Sheedy. Maxine graduated from Schenck High School, attended U of M in Orono and graduated from Graves School of Design in Boston. She worked for Heal’s Store in East Millinocket, and more than 15 years at Wilson’s Department Store in Lincoln. Maxine also had many “little ones” brought to her for day care. She was a faithful member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Lincoln and a charter member of the Lincoln Daughters of Isabella. For many years, she was a girl scout troop leader. Maxine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress and cook, and enjoyed the simple things of life, such as going for a car ride. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Maxine is survived by her husband of 63 years, Theodore “Ted” Landry; four daughters and their husbands, Susan and Ellis Bailey of West Enfield, Janet and Donald Marin of Lincoln, Mary and John Turner of Mattawamkeag, and Ruth and Ronald Bossie of Millinocket; 12 grandchildren, Ellis Bailey Jr., Elizabeth Harrington, Erica Benson, Elaine Mazzeo, Billy Leveillee, Jon Marin, Ann Miles, Jannifer Stevens, Kendra Sanborn, Johnna Shorter, Katherine Bossie, and Theodore Bossie; six great-grandchildren, Erin, Michelle and Devin Harrington, Ashlee Marin, Phoebe Sanborn and Maryn Miles; a brother, John Sheedy and his wife, Polly, of Ashland, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Landry of Newport; and a son-in-law, Elton and Sue Shorey of Orono; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Mary Louise; a daughter, Ann Landry Shorey; a grandson, Lucas Theodore Bossie; and a sister, Margaret Nixon. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Lincoln, with the Rev. Myles Cyr presiding. A luncheon by the Knights of Columbus and the Daughters of Isabella will be provided at the church after the Mass. Spring interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
